Looking to successfully slow down or retire at the end of a career can be a stressful time. It is especially stressful when a health condition is impacting a physician’s ability to work. Many physicians prefer to work into their late career and have much to offer in terms of experience, institutional memory and often with more flexible time schedules.
With an increasing proportion of doctors reaching retirement age, questions about the early detection of cognitive changes have become an emerging priority in the field of physicians’ health.
The PHP provides confidential support to physicians and their families, navigating aging and retirement. Clinical team members are available by phone during OMA business hours to answer questions and assist with a wide variety of concerns. The PHP can offer support in a number of ways including
